25 Days Of Blogmas Day 18 / My Volunteering Experience!

Hey, Jammer's! CoolCat here with another post! And I'm back with day 18 of 25 Days Of Blogmas! I'm sorry about my short post yesterday. I was very tired and didn't feel like making a very long post. But todays post should be longer! For todays post I will share some funny encounters I experienced while volunteering! I guess I should start from when I arrived.

My mom and I arrived about five to ten minutes before our shift started. We were going to walk inside first, but my mom thought she should let the people volunteering before us know we were there. So we did and the older couple excitedly asked for our names. My mom introduced herself and me as her daughter. The older man jokingly asked if I went by anything else besides daughter, we all laughed as I introduced myself. They had my mom read the rules, while I greeted people on their way out. I just stood there ringing the bell shyly. The older lady said to my mom and I, that we could say ''Merry Christmas" Or ''God Bless You!"'  The couple also told us of a man that dropped in a gold coin worth about 50 dollars not long before we arrived. And then we prayed with the older couple, then, they were gone.

For the first five to ten minutes of ringing the bell for donations, we got lots of not so friendly looks and side glances. But shortly after that, everyone else exiting seemed to be more friendly. We also got our first donation not long after starting! Most people also seemed to have a great sense of humor, here are some of the funny things people said to us!

Several people came out and said, ''I put money in on my way inside, I promise!!'' But what really stood out was when a lady and her husband came out, and she said that. Then the husband jokingly added, ''Yeah, that's what they all say.'' I couldn't stop laughing for a while after that one!

Then an older man went to donate and he stopped and said, ''Wait a minute, I'm not donating until somebody sings! Where's the singing at?" To which I responded by singing three lines of we wish you a Merry Christmas. Then he happily donated.

Then one man donated and said to us, ''You know you're set up in the wrong place, right? You should be set up at the stores entrance, where the people go in the store with money!'' I thought that was one of the funniest things of the night!

That's all I can remember! I'm sure other things happened but those three things were the funniest that I could remember. It was lots of fun to volunteer! Its not to late to volunteer yourself either! You can check with you're church and set up a shift that way. I'm not sure but there are probably other ways to get a volunteering shift as well!

I hope you enjoyed todays post! I hope it was worth waiting another day for. Stay tuned for another post tomorrow!

As always. Bye, Jammer's! And ~Jam On!~

  1. Hmm that sounds kinda fun!
Maybe I'll ask my mom if we can do that! But a problem is, that where we live, is pretty cold, this past week, was only like 4 degrees, but I think this week it's suppose to be in the 20s!
IDK if I do it i'll comment what happened!
